Best Ways to Support During World Pride

World Pride is more than just a celebration—it's a powerful global event that honors LGBTQ+ rights, visibility, and resilience. Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, showing your support during World Pride makes a meaningful difference. Here are the best ways to stand in solidarity and support the community during this vibrant time.

1. Educate Yourself and Others

True allyship begins with understanding. Take the time to learn about LGBTQ+ history, identities, and current issues facing the community. Share what you learn with friends and family to help spread awareness and challenge misinformation.

2. Attend Pride Events Respectfully

Whether you're joining a parade, panel, or performance, be present with respect and joy. Celebrate without appropriating, and remember that Pride originated as a protest. Respect the space as one for both celebration and activism.

3. Support LGBTQ+-Owned Businesses

Shopping with LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs is a tangible way to support the community. Many Pride events showcase queer artists, creators, and small businesses—buy their work, follow them online, and recommend them to others.

4. Donate to LGBTQ+ Organizations

If you're able, make a donation to organizations that work year-round to support LGBTQ+ individuals, especially those focusing on trans rights, youth support, mental health, and legal advocacy.

5. Amplify Marginalized Voices

Not all experiences within the LGBTQ+ community are the same. Make an effort to amplify voices of people of color, trans and nonbinary individuals, and others who may be underrepresented or face greater barriers.

6. Volunteer Your Time

Your time can be just as valuable as a donation. Look for volunteer opportunities at Pride events or with local LGBTQ+ centers. Whether you’re helping with logistics, community outreach, or support services, every bit helps.

7. Advocate for LGBTQ+ Rights Year-Round

Pride is a reminder, not a limit. Support doesn’t stop at the end of June or after World Pride concludes. Push for inclusive policies in schools, workplaces, and governments, and speak out against discrimination whenever you encounter it.

8. Be an Active Ally

Being an ally means more than waving a flag. It means intervening when someone is being harassed, correcting people when they misgender someone, and creating inclusive environments where LGBTQ+ people can thrive.

World Pride is a time to uplift, support, and celebrate LGBTQ+ communities across the globe. Whether through education, advocacy, donations, or participation, your support can help make Pride more inclusive, impactful, and empowering for everyone involved.
